Michelle Auerbach – President

Where were you born and raised?

I was born and raised in Cupertino, California although I have also lived in New York City and New Jersey.

How did you end up in Denver?

My husband was offered a job opportunity with Colorado Children’s Hospital. We enjoy outdoor

activities and felt Colorado would be a great fit for our active lifestyle and family so we moved here in

2010 and have never looked back.

What are you doing when your kids are at school?

I work full time for a residential home builder as a project coordinator.

Tell us about your family.

I am surrounded by boys. My husband Scott and I have two children. Niko is 9 years old and will be

entering the 4th grade in the fall. Evan is 7 years old and will be starting 2nd grade. We also have a Boxer

named Fletch.

Why did you choose Swigert?

We have been a Swigert family since the school opened in Stapleton. We chose Swigert because we

like the idea of our children attending a neighborhood school where they can walk or bike to school. We

also like the IB program and want our sons to be encouraged to think independently and drive their own

learning.

What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?

Before kids I used to enjoy laying on the couch and nodding off while watching football on tv. Now I

wake up early to exercise. Then I typically spend the remaining portion of my day driving my kids back

and forth to different sporting activities which is as equally rewarding.

Kisa Foster – Vice President

Where were you born and raised?

I am a rare native of Colorado. I grew up in Fort Morgan, a small farming town 80 miles east of Denver.

How did you end up in Denver?

After attending college at SMU in Texas, I moved to the east coast where I lived in CT and New York City for several years. I decided to move back to CO 15 years ago and I’m glad I did. Shortly thereafter, I met my husband Dan.

What are you doing when your kids are at school?

I like to say that I made a career change from Advertising to parenthood and it’s the most rewarding career decision I could have made. I enjoy being active in my boys’ school. During much needed breaks from my To-Do list I enjoy reading, walking and practicing yoga.

Tell us about your family.

My husband Dan (“the wine guy” to you all) and I have two boys – Asher, in the 3 rd grade, and Ford, in the first grade.

Why did you choose Swigert?

We were building a house close to Swigert when Asher was 4 and chose Swigert because it was just blocks away and had some of the highest test scores in the area. Getting a spot in the preschool class was literally like winning the lottery to us. This is our 5th year at the school and we are very happy.

What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?

Definitely brunch, my favorite meal, followed by a long walk and then movie night with the family.

Tiffany Spector – Treasurer

Where were you born and raised?

I spent most of my childhood in the suburbs of St. Paul, Minnesota, ‘doncha know – said with a Fargo accent which I have managed to lose over the years.  I’ve also lived in California: the small town of Placerville and the big city of San Francisco, as well as a short stint in Washington D.C.

How did you end up in Denver?

My husband is a native and I went to the University of Colorado at Boulder.  After David and I got married, we knew we were ready to make our way back to Colorado for good!

What are you doing when your kids are at school?

After resigning from my full time job with a global sportswear company earlier this year, I am reacquainting myself with the joys of being a stay-at- home mom.  But I don’t drink coffee, so no, I’m not hanging out at Starbucks all day!

Tell us about your family.

My husband David and I met when we were 18 and have been married for over a decade.  We have two boys, Andrew (3rd grade) and Logan (1st grade).

Why did you choose Swigert?

Swigert’s close proximity to our house and the IB offering caught our interest at first.  The community of students, teachers, administrators and parents has made us feel so lucky to continue to be involved with such a great school.

What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?

Sleeping in, going to a mid-morning workout, attending a fun event with the kids and then getting a babysitter so we can take the train down to Union Station for an adult night out!

Lauren Kushkin- Secretary

Where were you born and raised?

I was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio.   However, I have lived in Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio as well as Atlanta, Georgia and Auburn, Alabama.

How did you end up in Denver?

My Husband took a job as Associate Head Coach of the DU women’s basketball team.

What are you doing when your kids are at school?

I am an attorney by trade, but I am currently not practicing.  I co-chaired the auction last year, which was like a full-time job.   Therefore, at this point, I am not sure what I will be doing while my kids are at school, but I am sure my days will go by quickly!

Tell us about your family.

I have two daughters – one is in fifth grade, and the other fourth grade.  We also got a puppy over the summer.

Why did you choose Swigert?

We chose Swigert because we liked the IB program and Spanish curriculum.  We also live very close to school and liked the idea of being able to walk there everyday.

What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?

Spending time with my family.
