2022 Swigert Auction
Save the Date for the Swigert’s 2022 Auction which is sure to be an incredible evening! This year’s event, “Grow Your Own Way”, will be hosted at the Denver Botanic Gardens and will feature delicious food and drinks in a beautiful setting as well as the opportunity to bid on a variety of silent and live auction items. Come support the school while getting to know your fellow Swigert parents!

Class pictures and Retake Day
November 1st, Lifetouch will be back for retakes and class pictures. Order forms will go home this Friday or you can order online at lifetouch.com:

If your child missed the original picture day, they will have their picture taken on retake day, even if you don’t place an order. If you want to order pictures, please either order online or use the form that will go home before retakes.
If your child already had pictures taken and you don’t want retakes, you don’t need to do anything. If your child already had pictures taken and you want retakes, please return the original photos by the morning of Monday, October 29th. Also notify your child’s teacher that the photos are in your child’s backpack/Friday folder so they know to look for them. If a student has already had a picture taken and the teacher doesn’t know that you want retakes (which they’ll know by the returned pictures), no retakes will be taken.

Halloween Parade
We’re so excited to welcome you back to the Halloween parade this year! Join us Friday Oct 29 at 2:30 on the field!
- Please wear a mask.
- Send your child to school in their clothing and bring costumes in a bag they will have time to change before the parade. They will need to wear a COVID mask along with a costume mask.
- No pretend weapons or gory masks
- Parent will be asked to view separately from theirs kid’s classes. We have many people in various stages of the vaccination process. In order to keep the kids safe, we are asking parents to keep some distance.

Swigert Celebrates!
Come out and celebrate the success of the Swigert Gives campaign with an outdoor, family-friendly event at the Stanley Beer Hall patio! We will have light appetizers, adult and kid drinks, and activities for the whole family. Come celebrate our amazing Swigert Community!
Swigert Gives 2021
The Swigert PTA is hosting a week-long online donation drive and celebration of Swigert. Your donations are the primary form of support for International Baccalaureate (IB) staff/program, additional paraprofessionals, Spanish language education, and teacher training. The IB program alone costs more than $100,000 each year and the support given by the PTA is the sole funding source for keeping Swigert an IB school.
Back-To-School Night
Come meet your student’s teacher and learn about the year ahead. There will be 2 sessions available in order to visit more than one class or attend a variety of breakout sessions about special programs available at Swigert.
Welcome Back Breakfast
Join the Swigert staff and PTA for a fun, community event on the Swigert playground. Come enjoy some yummy breakfast and meet fellow Swigert families!
Meet the Teacher Night
Join us at Swigert to find out who your teacher and classmates will be for the year! You’ll have an opportunity to say hello to your new teacher, sign up for assessment time, let teachers know your child’s plan for getting to and from school, and pick up any other pertinent information about the start of the year. The PTA will be there selling Spirit Wear and administrators will be making their way around to say hello.
Summer Reading Challenge
Keep your students motivated to read over the summer with our 2nd Annual Swigert Summer Reading Challenge! Sign up here and log your minutes to be entered to win fun prizes in the fall.

Teacher Appreciation Week
As we near the end of an incredibly challenging year, we are excited to spend Teacher Appreciation Week showing our amazing Swigert teachers and paras just how much they mean to us. Swigert Auction
COVID has required Swigert to reimagine our annual auction. In lieu of this large community social event, the auction committee is launching a virtual UN-gala!
What: Back to the 80’s with Swigert - an online auction/fundraising event
Why: The pandemic has hit public schools HARD. Many of our fundraising events have had to be scaled back or canceled entirely, which creates a budget shortfall of approximately $100,000. In order to maintain the high level of IB education we have become accustomed to receiving at Swigert we must bridge this gap.
