Spirit Week

Sept. 16    RED

Sept. 17    GREEN

Sept. 18    SWIGERT BLUE

Sept. 19    YELLOW

Sept. 20    COLOR RUN SHIRT

In the week that follows, we aim to raise $100,000 to help offset the $450 per pupil deficit in public funding. To get our community excited for this very special week, the kids will have a spirit week where they will dress in the color they are seeking to earn that day, which will then be added as a color station to the Color Run at the end of the week. For every $25k raised, a new color is earned!

Swigert Gives is the most important annual fundraising campaign for our school.

With Colorado state funding for schools among the worst in the country, the PTA needs to raise $250,000 annually to continue our existing programs. This is $450 per student on average.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much should I give?

We are asking for a one-time donation of $450 per student attending Swigert for the current school year. In the past, we have held multiple fundraisers throughout the year, asking for small donations at each. After feedback from our fundraising survey last spring, we want to offer a single donation option for families. You can donate the $450/student upfront now and know you have met your family's fundraising responsibility for the year. If you prefer to give throughout the year, there are options to break up your donation into monthly or quarterly installments. For those able to donate more than $450/student, please donate what you can to help support those unable to contribute at this level. It takes a village, and we need all the support we can get to reach our goal!

Where do these contributions go?

These contributions support Swigert's International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, the IB Coordinator, specialized IB teacher training, the Spanish language program, our classroom paraprofessionals, and funds for the Swigert Community Garden and the Critical Needs program. None of these programs could continue without your support. This is part of what makes Swigert unique!

Can family and friends donate too?

Of course! All support is welcome. Please mention the campaign to other family members, neighbors, and friends to help us reach our individual goal.

Does your company match?

Don’t forget to check with your company to see if they match your donations. Hundreds of companies do corporate matching, and this is a great way to maximize your donation.

What is the Direct Giving Party?

A kick-off party where parents and staff can casually meet and mingle.  It's a great way to connect and get excited about the coming week.  Food & beverages will be served; including a full bar, hors d' oeuvres and desserts.  Guaranteed to be a blast!...Drop in to say hi, or stay for the duration.

What is the Color Run?

A fun run around the field where students will run through color stations. By reaching a daily fundraising goal, they "earn" a color station for the FUN.

Where is the Color Run?

The run will take place on the playground on the large grass field inside the gates during school hours October 6th. Parents are welcome to come watch by lining up on the outside perimeter of the gates.

What should my student wear?

Every child will receive a t-shirt to wear over their clothes for the run.  We are asking for a $5 donation for each shirt to offset the cost, but that is optional.

Can I volunteer to help with the Run?

Yes, please email president@swigertpta.com to help with this event.

Thank you for your support - Swigert couldn't be such an amazing school without people like you!
